The day is FINALLY here y'all! For perspective we began the barn project in August 2021. We started by talking with local builders and after much research we found the barn we felt would work best for us. We decided on the best location on our farm and signed the contract. We promptly applied for our building permit and then we were told we need stamped blueprints. Y'all it took over 3 months to get our blueprints! Every. Delay. Possible. The extra time did give us the opportunity to plan and do more land clearing, so I guess it all worked out in the end.
Thankfully we kept our contractor in the loop and he was flexible as we waited on the blueprints. The day after we received the permit he was ready to go. It only took them 3 1/2 days to complete it and I am over the moon! This is a huge milestone for us. Having our barn means we are one step closer to bringing our cows home.
The next few weeks we will work on the interior of the barn. We have a rough idea of how we want the layout but, as with everything, we have to give the barn some time to breathe before making our final decision.
Last week I shared the ever changing view from my office window and this week I watched us reach another huge milestone in our farm journey through that very same window. We came here with a dream and just look how far we have come! God is so good. We continue to trust HIM through this whole journey. God is there on the good days and the bad days. He deserves all the praise, all the time.
Now let's get to work so we can bring our cows home!
